Karl Minzenmayer
Owner Impressive Eyes Optical
Karl has called Colorado Springs home since 1984.
He attended Angelo State University in Texas and was certified with the American Board of Opticians. He continued his education studying under Dr. Stanley Pearle. Karl opened the doors of Impressive Eyes Optical and has thoroughly enjoyed serving his community in the Colorado Springs area for over 30 years.
With strong Ojibwe roots Karl is an active supporter and member of the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA). He also enjoys Native American Pow Wow dancing and volunteering at the Colorado Springs Indian Center.
Karl has five wonderful adult children and four amazing grandchildren which are the light of his life. He is also very proud to be the pet human to Gideon; Australian Shepard and Impressive Eyes Optical Lead Supervisor.
Dr. Cynthia Martin
Optometrist
Dr. Cynthia Martin is an independent optometrist (Martin Vision PC) providing services for Impressive Eyes Optical. She has been an optometrist for 28 years, receiving her degree from the School of Optometry in Indiana, and has specialized in pediatric optometry and senior eye care. Her calm and professional nature will put you right at ease from the moment you sit down. A resident of Colorado Springs for over 26 years Dr. Martin enjoys biking, going to the gym, and gardening.
Julie Powell
Patient Care Coordinator / Insurance / Billing
Julie is a Colorado Springs native and has been in the eye care business for 21 years. Julie's motto is "Keep On Keeping On" and as a two-time cancer survivor and a single mom of two wonderful sons she certainly lives by this!
Julie is often the first person you interact with at Impressive Eyes Optical, she will make you feel confident you made the right choice for your eye care needs.
On her "down time" Julie enjoys swimming, reading and volunteering at the National Mill Dog Rescue.
Amanda
Senior Optician
Amanda, our Senior Optician here at Impressive Eyes Optical has been working as an optician for 11 years. She received a National Vision Champs Award for customer service, has extensive optical knowledge and is a self-proclaimed "Optical Nerd".
Amanda has an infectious smile, and a genuinely kind personality. She always goes out of her way to find the answers to any questions we or our customers may have. We are so lucky to have Amanda as part of our Impressive Eyes Optical family!
Amanda is mom to two beautiful little girls and it's been told by her husband David that she tolerates him very well. *wink* They love dressing up for ComiCon and The Renaissance Festival, outdoor activities, and all things Sci/Fi.
Sarah
Lab Technician
Sarah has been a Lab Technician for fourteen years. We love having Sarah on our team! When asked what she enjoys most about her job she will tell you she loves giving people the gift of sight. We think that's pretty special.
Sarah has three children and her favorite activity with them is going to one of the many beautiful parks here in our lovely community.
Zulma
Optician
Zulma has been working in the optical field for over four years, with a background in medical and ophthalmic care. She is definitely the most stylish among the Impressive Eyes team and as such Zulma easily helps our patients find the perfect fashionable frames.
She might be the baby of the office but no one can put her in a corner. Ella habla espanol!
The most important person in Zulma's life is her daughter. They enjoy going to movies together, spending time exploring Colorado and they both share an artist's flare.
We are all so glad to have Zulma with us here at Impressive Eyes Optical!
Gideon
Lead Supervisor
Last but certainly not least meet our benevolent overlord; Gideon. Originally hailing from the low pastures of Australia, Gideon has spent the majority of his dog life right here in Colorado Springs. His hobbies include entertaining Impressive Eyes Optical customers, catching frisbees, and humoring his furry pet Karl. Gideon holds a PhD in begging from the very prestigious Canine University of Colorado. He graduated with honors. He's very proud.
